From An Idea To A Product To The Market. Schimples.

From A Product To The Market

When it comes to launching a product, you can often find that you are wondering where best to start. Whether your product is something like a clothing collection, foodie related or even a specific product for a particular industry, the process can be translated and the steps you take are very similar as you adapt them to suit your business needs. I thought I would share with you what those steps are to help you bring your product to market.

Super-Mega-Market Research

One of the first steps to take would be to conduct some market research regarding the product you have. This is where you can do a variety of things such as a low people to test and try out, having focus groups where it is discussed or even just putting it out there online to see what the consensus is. This is your chance to take on valuable feedback so that you can create a good product.

Get Spine's Tingling With Anticipation

The next thing to think about, once you have started to fine tune the product, is to build up the anticipation online. You can do this in a variety of different ways. You can look at your social media platforms and post directly on there. Build up the excitement of counting down the days till the launch or providing more in-depth details about the products. You can also do this through your website or blog posts.

Prettify Your Packaging

Once you have the excitement the other thing you might want to spend some time focusing on would be the packaging, labelling and how it looks. The truth is, the product needs to be good but the packaging also needs to deliver. So much is decided on how something looks. This is when specific labels for products, for example, bbq sauce labels for bottles, printed labels for envelopes or even labels for soft toys or furnishings can just be the added last detail to signify the brand.

Tune, Tweak & Tune Some More

You need to take the time to fine tune the product before release. You may have taken on some great feedback from the consumer testing and market research and now you might want to go back to those sorts of environments and make sure you got it right. This can still help you be presented with opportunities to make little change here and there to ensure you feel happy with the final product.

Manufacturing Needs A Few Thoughts

Finally, make sure you anticipate the manufacturing side of things. How long does production take? How many do you want to hold as available stock? The length of time it takes to manufacture a product will have an impact on how you run your business. These are the things you need to think about and forecasting sales and anticipation for the product will help you make good choices on the manufacturing side of things.

We hope that these (incredible!) tips prove to be more useful than a chocolate teapot and, who knows, maybe even help you bring your product to market. (Footnotes are more than welcome).
